Turck High Temperature Sensors

Devices up to +100°C (+212°F) in Metal Barrels: Brass barrels sensors have been added to the proven range of plastic barrel sensors. The devices available are 3-wire DC 12, 18 and 30 mm sensors in flush or no-flush versions.

12 mm Sensors up to +120°C (+248°F): The 12, 18 and 30 mm sensor is now available for temperatures up to +120°C (248°F). Following many customers requests, we have added smaller styles to our range of sensors for +120°C(+248°F). Devices available are the climate-proof types due to their universal applicability.

Sensors up to 160°C (+320°F): In order to fulfill the demand for sensors subject to even higher temperatures, we now offer 18 and 30 mm barrel sensors for +160°C (+320°F).   These devices feature an integrated amplifier and are thus easier and more widely applicable.

Turck EZ-Track™ Sensor

EZ-Track™ line of programmable, auto-tuning, non-contact linear displacement transducers (LDTs).  These sensors offer an alternative to proximity switches where continuous linear feedback in necessary.  Utilizing magnetostrictive technology, the LDTs monitor the position of a magnet along the sensors active stoke without causing any wear on the sensor parts.  An accuracy +/-0.1% and a repeatability of +/-0.01% of the full stroke can be achieved.

EZ Track™ sensors are 10 to 30 VDC units and are offered in stroke lengths from 4" to 180" in increments of 0.1".  The anodized aluminum housing is sealed to an IP 67 rating.  Outputs available are 0 to 10 V, 10 to 0 V, -10 to 10 V, 10 to -10 V, 4 to 20 mA, 20 to 4 mA.

Turck "Load Dump" Sensors

"Load Dump" sensor solves the application problems in large vehicles that use battery operated systems such as lift equipment, garbage trucks, military vehicles, etc.

The technical name for this type of sensor is "Immunity to Conducted Transients On Power Leads".  They have been tested and meet the SAE-J1113-11 specs, described as the following:

  • The tests for SAE-J1113-11 were developed to provide measurable and repeatable test measurements to determine the susceptibility of electrical transients, particularly along battery feed and switched ignition, generated in those systems.
  • Switching devices such as relays, intermittent alternator/generator switching or battery to load switching can cause very high transients up to 600 volts for durations of up to ½ a second.  The energy in these transients is often enough to damage unprotected semiconductor devices (like proximity sensors).  The tests were established for both 12 volt and 24 volt systems.

The superior performance of  flexlife-10 is due to an innovative design and custom compounds; Thermosplastic Elastomer (TPE) and Polyurethane (PUR) cable jackets, Teflon® flex facilitator and finely stranded custom alloy conductors.  This design generates less heat as the cable flexes providing longer (10 million-plus flex cycles) product service life.

Turck NEW levelprox

levelprox is ideal for applications in breweries, dairies and other food or beverage production facilities, wastewater treatment, chemical handling, oil or lubricant storage and pharmaceutical.  Using ultrasonic technology to sense through the metal tank walls is ideal for situations where intrusion into the tank is not desired, such as when the media is caustic or volatile, under high pressure, at very high temperatures, and especially if the environment is sanitary.  Also, with levelprox there are no material compatibility issues since there is no direct contact with the media, and it is not affected by stirring devices.

levelprox is constructed of high grade 316 stainless steel (1.4404) and can sense through walls from 1 mm (.040") to 15 mm (.590") thick.  A 1-½ Tri-clamp fitting is incorporated into the sensor and can be used with the optional mounting kit, which includes the clamp.  The mount is welded to the tank and the sensor is fastened to the tank and the sensor is fastened to it with the Tri-Clamp.  This positions the sensor face in the ideal detection position and also ensures a sanitary, leak-proof fitting.  levelprox is completely self-contained with no need for an additional amplifier.

Molded Junction Box

The miniature 4-port fully potted nylon junctions are available in 4-pin dual outputs per port with optional power and signal LEDs.  The 4-pin model uses a M12 thread size Homerun connection for power to the box and the 5-pin model uses an M16 thread size connection, both models offer an integral albe as an option.&nsbp; Homerun connectors available in straight or right angle styles with high-flex PVC or PUR cable construction.  an accessory option (shown in photo) is a separate tiny, splitter "tee" which allows two sensors access to each dual output port.  Operating current is 4 Amps per port, total operating current 2-4 Amps for 4-pin versions and 3-6 Amps for 5-pin versions, operating voltage 10-48 VDC and protection rating IP67.

Turck's NEW In-Line Flow Sensor

Ideal for very low flow rates, these sensors can monitor changes in flow a s low as 5 ml/min (0.001 GPM).   With its unique design, this sensor can be used for liquids and gases.  This, combined with their fast response times, makes them perfect for applications involving pulsing or periodic flow rates.

since these sensors connect directly into the pipeline with no intrusive probe there is no need to worry about orientation or flow direction when mounting the sensor.  This design feature also allows these monitors to maintain excellent accuracy specifications during changes in media temperature.  These solid state devices have no moving parts that will break off or freeze up over time, eliminating major repair costs to pumps and other expensive items.  Both the D04 and the D10 are available with either a discrete transistor output or 4-20 mA analog signal output, both in DC only.  Each can easily be set up for a variety of applications by using the adjustment potentiometer(s) on the front of the housing.  All wetted parts are 316 stainless steel including the various tube fitting adapter accessories.
